Camp Theatre presents

Wilf, Cissy and Reggie are three elderly opera stars calmly living out the autumn of their lives in a retirement home for musicians. They are contemplating how to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Guiseppi Verdi. The daily equilibrium is disrupted by the arrival of Reggie’s ex-wife Jean who acts like a diva and refuses to sing.

Popularised by a very successful film starring Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins, Tom Courtenay and Maggie Smith this bittersweet comedy is, by turns, both funny and poignant. As the evening unfolds many questions are answered: Exactly how long did Jean and Reggie’s marriage last? What would Wilf like to do with Cissy in the herbaceous borders? And will Reggie ever get marmalade for breakfast?

Camp Theatre is a not for profit Community Theatre Company founded in 1994. It has produced over fifty shows and raised over £50,000 for a range of local, national and international charities. Previous touring produc-tions include A Man For All Seasons, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Lying Kind, The Browning Version, Hay Fever, When We Are Married, In The Club, Secrets and The School For Scandal.
