• Richard Willey MP, a junior minister in the government, plans to spend the evening with Jane Worthington at the Westminster Hotel. Jane is one of the secretaries working for the Leader of the Opposition, and naturally things do not go to Richard’s plan.
• There is  a sash window with a mind of its own, as well as a mysteriously opening cupboard door. Further complicating matters is a  dead body,  and so one has the beginnings of a very funny comedy-farce.
• Unexpected arrivals further complicate the plot until all matters are successfully resolved and reputations remain intact.
• An Olivier Award Winner for Best Comedy, this is one of many plays written by Ray Cooney, a master of this genre. Indeed, in the 1990’s  Ray had four of his plays running simultaneously in the West End.
• The play was presented here at Lane Theatre  in 1995.
• Our current director, Andy Fox, has presented “Out of Order”  on two previous occasions, firstly in Manchester in 2004, and then ten years later in Cyprus.
• This time, he says,  it gives him a chance to get it right!
